Treasury Technology

Murex Modernization  2020 – 2022

 PGo Client Director – Treasury: The best platform delivery team by a country mile.

Achievement: Solution delivery of a new Murex trading platform, to provide a sustainable evergreen platform with the ability to utilise private and AWS Cloud technology

Programme: Modernisation of a treasury technology estate. A 14 point Murex upgrade (to V3.1.48) with a focus on new infrastructure (Cisco UCS platform), Operating Systems (RHEL), databases (Oracle 19c) and secure networks. A top five client programme delivered to time, to budget and exceeding quality KPIs. 

Scope included: 

  • A full new platform to support AWS Cloud development and test environments, full private cloud (on-premise) Production, Disaster Recovery and pre-Production environments
  • Provide new monitoring and alerting capabilities to improve fault diagnostics and speed of fault resolution
  • Provide new DevOps tooling for eventual Cloud migration
  • Full program lifecycle management from conception to warranty completion

SWIFT Platform Delivery 2017 – 2018

SWIFT Client Account Manager: An exceptionally well delivered project by a high performing professional team.

Achievement: Cleartest resources were re-engaged by the client following on from a successful trading platform delivery. The programme delivered an upgrade to the SWIFT application suite and delivered a new secure platform. The programme was awarded to Cleartest resources due to the critical timescales required to address security flaws in the existing solution and the complex non standard delivery required. The programme was entirely managed and delivered by Cleartest resources. It was delivered one month early and significantly under budget.

Programme: SWIFT application suite and platform upgrade

Scope included: 

    • Business process re-engineering
    • IT Architecture delivery (Data, Applications, Infrastructure)
    • New group policies, new security architecture, new secure ‘off net’ networks
    • Full program lifecycle management from conception to warranty completion

Murex Platform Delivery 2015 – 2017

MS (3rd Party Director): The Murex program would not have been successful without Ian and his team stepping in to deliver the underlying Murex test and Production environments, secure networks, interfaces and management of the functional and non-functional test teams

  • Full IT platform re-engineering and delivery
  • Replacement of incumbent platform team due to RED board reported status
  • Took all Client IT deliverables off the critical path
  • Delivered numerous change requests

Open Banking 2018 – 2020

PGe (Client Director – Technology): Ian and his team took on a highly complex, challenging program of work. They delivered a step change in capability, with a razor-sharp focus on resolving critical path issues. Ian runs a highly efficient team that consistently produces a flow of high-quality deliverables.

Workplace Agility 2013 – 2017

GA Client Director – I worked with Ian and his team members on the delivery of a major new mortgage system. I had no hesitation on bringing Ian and his team onboard to deliver a portfolio of programs delivering workplace agility for out 700 branches and 6 administration centres. Due to the success in this portfolio, Ian and his team were selected to deliver the new Open Banking IT capabilities for the company.

Mortgages 2009 – 2011

(GA – Client Director) Ian and his team came highly recommended from Hutchinson 3g (3 mobile) and Prudential Insurance. I needed a hard hitting deputy director, project managers, test managers and test teams. Ian came onboard with his team and turned the programs fortunes around. He quickly gained the confidence of the Exec as milestones were met and quality improved.
